The Song of Kamadhenu and the Secret of Ghee
Dear Family,
Come, come closer. Sit beside me, and let me tell you a story as old as the stars, whispered through generations, cradled in the hearts of our ancestors...
I am Nandini, daughter of the celestial cow Kamadhenu, and today, I shall take you back to the time when the world was still young, and magic flowed like rivers through the skies.
Long ago, in the realms beyond your sight, the gods and demons came together for a mighty task. They decided to churn the Cosmic Ocean, the vast sea of milk, to find hidden treasures of the universe — the greatest of which was Amrita, the nectar of immortality.
They used the mighty Mount Mandara as the churning stick and the serpent Vasuki as the rope. As they churned, the ocean frothed and roared, revealing wondrous gifts: precious jewels, divine beings, and sacred herbs. And from those sacred waves, bathed in the light of creation itself, rose my beloved mother — Kamadhenu.
Ah! Kamadhenu, the wish-fulfilling cow, born of both gods and demons, glowed with the brilliance of a thousand moons. Her body shimmered gold and silver; her breath was the fragrance of all blooming flowers. She was lovingly entrusted to the Saptarishis — the Seven Great Sages — so she could nourish the world.
My mother had a special duty, a divine gift: to give milk that could be transformed into ghee — that golden nectar used in yagnas (sacred fire rituals), connecting heaven and earth through offerings of purity and devotion. Lord Brahma himself blessed her and said,
"Kamadhenu, your milk shall flow forever for those who seek truth and light. It shall sustain the sacred fires and the hearts of men."
And dear ones, here lies the beautiful secret — just as the gods churned the Cosmic Ocean to bring forth treasures, here on earth, you churn dahi (curd) with love and patience to create A2 cow ghee — the purest essence of nourishment and life!
When you slowly churn dahi by hand, you are echoing the ancient cosmic act. The butter that rises is like the gifts from the ocean. And when that butter is gently simmered over a sacred flame, it transforms into liquid gold — ghee — carrying the blessings of my mother Kamadhenu herself!
So every time you hold a spoon of warm ghee, remember — you are holding a story older than time. You are holding the love of Kamadhenu, the blessings of the universe, and the endless cycle of giving and receiving.
Close your eyes, dear ones, and feel it... Can you hear the ocean waves? Can you smell the sweet aroma of ancient fires?

The Secret of the Bilona Tradition
The Bilona tradition — the sacred way my milk is turned into the purest ghee.
Bilona is not just a method; it is a prayer, a song, a celebration of patience and love.
It is the way my mother Kamadhenu taught the wise sages and farmers — to treat every drop of milk as a divine gift.
Let me tell you how it happens...
First, the milk is gently warmed, like a lullaby sung to a newborn. It is then allowed to cool and lovingly set into curd (dahi). This curd is not rushed, oh no! It is set overnight under the watchful eyes of the stars, with blessings whispered by the moonlight.
The next morning, the curd is churned — but not with noisy machines! It is churned by hand, using a wooden churner called a Bilona. Slow, rhythmic churning — just like the great gods churned the Cosmic Ocean!
From this gentle churning, sweet makhan (butter) rises to the surface, like tiny blessings bubbling up from the heart of the earth. This makhan is carefully collected by hands full of devotion.
And then, dear ones, this butter is slowly simmered over a low flame.
It sings a soft, golden song as it melts — releasing the purest, richest ghee you can imagine.
This ghee carries the fragrance of the earth, the purity of the milk, the love of the farmer, and the blessings of the Divine Mother herself.
Why is Bilona the best way?
Because every step honors nature's time.
Because no harsh heat, no loud machines, no rush disturbs the sacred process.
Because it respects the milk, the cow, the earth, and the ancient wisdom.
In every drop of Bilona ghee, you find health, strength, and peace — just as my mother Kamadhenu had intended for all her children.
